F. Schatz Chardonnay

The most exotic Chardonnay in the world.

Elaboration: 5 months of ageing "sur lie" with "batonnage" (*) in French oak barrels.

(*) Ageing on natural fine lees, which is raisaed at regular intervals during a period of time between 2 - 6 months.

Colour: Straw yellow

Nose: Notes of ripe white fruit, almond, peach and citrus.

Mouth: Fresh and lively with mineral notes, hazelnut and subtropical fruit.

Climatology: It was a spring with a lot of small rainfalls and with snow the 21. of Jan. and 8 of Feb. Budding was between late March and early April, with a very rapid growth. The beginning of May was very hot. The whole leaf wall was formed in three weeks, so flowering was early from 15 to 23 May. The 20 of May the weather refreshed. In July there was a strong and continued heatwave of 6 weeks. Vintage was also very early from the 12.08. to 18.09.15. Although it was very hot in July, the quality and quantity of the harvest was very good and with high acidity, because since the beginning of September it rained 15 It. and the nights starts refreshing.

F. Schatz Pinot Noir

The most southern Pinot Noir in Europe.

Name: F. Schatz Pinot Noir

Variety: Pinot Noir

Alcohol: 15%Vol.

Elaboration: 12 months of ageing "sur lie" with "batonnage" in French oak barrels.

Colour: Dark Cherry Red

Nose: Luscious red fruit (mulberry, cherry), fine cocoa with hints of spices (pepper, clove).

Mouth: Generous, fleshy, dry and vital acidity. Sensations of coffee notes, gingerbread and cocoa with bitter chocolate. Creamy and balsamic finish. Lengthy on the palate with a very ellegant terroir.

Climatology: A very cold spring, with temperatures almost every morning -8. The outbreak was late March. Late April, with snow in the surrounding Sierras. The Flowering took place in the last week of May. The harvest began in September and was completed in mid-October.

F. Schatz Acinipo

The only wine in Spain made of Lemberger.

Elaboration: 13 months of ageing "sur lie" with "batonnage" (*) in Slovenian oak barrels.

Colour: Ruby Red

Nose: Fresh and lively wild cherry, with spicy notes.

Mouth: Complex, clean and elegant harmony of fruit and mineral. True reflection of the terroir, with strong personality.

Climatology: Winter was warm and dry; the last time it rained was on 23/12/06, followed by warm temperatures (up to 21°C) and minor night frosts up to -3°C. The rain came back at the end of January together with some cold days. We finished pruning at the beginning of February. Sprouting was at the beginning of April, a week later than the previous year. On May 19th the flowering started and continued until June 9th. We began harvesting on the 2nd of September and finished on October 7th. During harvest, we had rain on three days (September 13th 15 litres, September 21st 16 litres and October 3rd 12 litres), which caused the calm ripening of the late varieties.

F. Schatz Finca Sanguijuela

The coupage to fall in love with

Name: F. Schatz Finca Sanguijuela

Type: Organic & Biodynamic red wine

Variety: Tempranillo, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon

Alcohol: 13.5%Vol.

Elaboration: 15 months of ageing "sur lie" with "batonnage"* in French oak barrels and American oak. Ageing on natural fine lees, which is raised at regular intervals during a period of time between 2 - 6 months.

Colour: Red violet.

Nose: Red forest fruits (blachberry, blachcurrant). Delicate vanilla with chocolate.

Mouth: Harmony between fruit, acidity and oah barrel. Well structured and elegant tannins. Long aftertaste and very mineral.

Climatology: A windy spring, fresh and with enough rain. Almost without frost. The outbreah was in mid-March and flowering very homogeneous, started 20th and ended the 25th of May. The harvest began on September a with the Pinot Noir and ended on October a with the Petit Verdot. There were 2 heavy rains in the vintage, mid and late September of 30 Itr. each, which slowed ripening. The guality and guantity was excellent with very good acidity and sugars in all varieties. Overall it can be said, it was a cool year with some heat spihes in July and August, rainfall was well distributed over the whole year and growing season.

The new taste of the famous grape

Variety: Petit Verdot

Alcohol: 13.5%Vol.

Elaboration: 12 months of ageing "sur lie" with "batonnage" in French oak barrels.

Colour: Red Violet

Nose: Balsamic aromas, with hints of medicinal plants, Eucalyptus, Pennroyal, Incense, Iodine, Sage and Chinese ink.

Mouth: Taste of Laurel and liquorice. Intensely fresh, spicy and balsamic. Long polished tannins with minerality and lively acidity.

Climatology: A very cold spring, with temperatures almost every morning -8. The outbreak was late March. Late April, with snow in the surrounding Sierras. The Flowering took place in the last week of May. We began the harvest in September and was completed in mid-October.

Colour: Bright currant.

Nose: Aromas of red fruits and rose petals.

Mouth: Fresh berry, intense and voluminous grape. Deeply mineral and balsamic.
